Jyotish Tarot: The Companion Book
Jyotish Tarot began with images inspired by nature. As I studied Jyotish, I created collages to help me see and feel its principles in everyday life. Those images grew into the Jyotish Tarot deck. This companion book goes along with the deck, giving you a way to explore each card more deeply as you use it.
The book introduces the three foundations behind the cards: the Grahas, which describe forces such as desire, courage, love, and responsibility; the Rāśis, which show different ways we meet life; and the Bhavas, which reflect experiences we all return to, from finding our place in the world to building relationships and learning to let go. Each card has its own chapter, beginning with recognizable human experiences so its meaning has somewhere to take root.
You don’t need to know astrology or Sanskrit to begin. The book includes an introduction to the deck and simple card spreads, whether you want to sit with one card or explore a question from several angles. You can read it from beginning to end, or keep it beside your deck and turn to a chapter whenever a card appears.
A card may remind you of something you are living through now, or bring an old experience into clearer view. Its meaning can deepen as your life changes. Together, the deck and book offer a visual and written language for noticing those patterns, reflecting on your choices, and recognizing what an experience may be asking of you.
